So i was reading the Toronto Star this morning and found this… NOT COOL TORONTO, NOT COOL!!
(I’m sorry for the bad quality)
You don’t like Loki? YOU DON’T LIKE LOKI? The author says Tom Hiddleston’s Loki “could draw hisses a Christmas pageant but he’s not a terribly convincing as the planet threatening psycho.”
No, you want to know why this bothers me? Because everything always has to be black and white. Everything must be good or evil, there’s no in between. Loki isn’t a deranged psychopath who wants to kill everything for fun. He has had his heart broken and been lied to his whole life, and yes i’m sure he does some terrible stuff in the movie, but he isn’t entirely evil. Loki has a reason and isn’t bad to the core. There is still a beating heart in his body and he has real emotions. I think Tom Hiddleston portrays that inner battle happening in Loki’s head perfectly, and shows us that Loki isn’t really a madman.
But people want the villian to be heartless. They want someone they can love to hate just because he’s not on a “good guy”. They don’t want a bad guy to be likeable, which pisses me off to no end. I like the bad guys. I like when there is someone out there that want’s something and isn’t afraid to take it. Screw you Toronto Star, Loki is one of the greatest villains of all time, especially played by Tom Hiddleston.
